DMAIC is a data-driven improvement cycle to methodically identify inefficiencies and problem areas, with the goal of improving, optimizing, or stabilizing an existing process.
Analyze the process to identify the cause-effect relationship between inputs and outputs. Identify the viral root causes.

Evaluate data collected in the measure phase.

Identify value vs. non-value added steps in the process.

Categorize sources of variation.
